Bio

Alyson is the Marketing and Communications Officer for University of Toronto Entrepreneurship (UTE). She develops and executes the marketing and communications strategy, including content marketing, stakeholder communications, digital marketing and community management to support UTE’s strategic objectives.

Before joining UTE, Alyson spent the better half of a decade working in public relations and marketing for international brands, not-for-profit organizations and startups. Most recently, Alyson led the PR and communications strategy for Sunwing’s hotels and resorts division, Blue Diamond Resorts, which includes luxury brands Royalton and Planet Hollywood. In 2019, she revamped the social media strategy for Sunwing Vacations to strengthen its following, engagement and online community. She began her career at Harmony Marketing, a boutique agency where she executed the marketing and communications strategy for government-funded public events including Redpath Waterfront Festival, Sail-In Cinema, Sugar Shack TO and Ontario Special Olympics Youth Games. As a marketing consultant, Alyson has supported local Toronto startups, including Make This Universe, advising on public relations, social media, design and sales strategies.

An entrepreneur at heart, Alyson is passionate about supporting the UTE community by promoting their innovations and success stories across Canada and internationally. Alyson holds a BA from the University of British Columbia and a post-graduate certificate in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Centennial College. In her spare time, Alyson enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her dog Luna.
