The 2024 conference will feature prominent Canadian technology leaders, including Geoffrey Hinton, Raquel Urtasun, Christian Weedbrook and Aidan Gomez.

U of T professor emeritus, Geoffrey Hinton, is recognized as one of the godfathers of artificial intelligence (AI). Last year, he voiced his concerns about AI risks, which led him to resign from his long-standing position at Google.

Hinton will be joined by other Canadian tech leaders, including Raquel Urtasun, a professor of computer science at U of T who launched her self-driving technology startup Waabi in 2022, with more than $100 million in funding.

Attendees can also look forward to hearing from Aidan Gomez, a former student of Hinton, U of T alumnus, and the co-founder of Cohere, and Christian Weedbrook, a former post-doctoral student at U of T and founder of quantum computing startup Xanadu.
