Nuha Siddiqui and Kritika Tyagi launched Erthos (previously named EcoPackers) while studying at the University of Toronto. They received early support from the U of T entrepreneurship community, including Rotman School of Management’s accelerator, Creative Destruction Lab.

The startup’s plant-based plastic alternatives are FDA compliant, bio-based certified, and on the shelves of commercial retailers. Founded in 2018, Erthos has raised $5.5 million USD in funding and is making six figures annually in revenue.

Siddiqui and Tyagi were recognized in Forbes 30 under 30 2023 list in the category of Social impact for leveraging their business smarts to help save the world.
