Katherine is the Founder, CEO, and Chair of SRTX, North America’s leading material science and smart manufacturing company powering the next generation of apparel. SRTX is best known for Sheertex, a rip-resist knit made from one of the world’s strongest polymers, which has grown to become the #1 selling tights in the United States. SRTX employs over 300 people in Canada, shipping millions of units annually, and operating two Montreal factories. Katherine has raised over $200M USD in venture capital from institutional investors including H&M Group, Founders Fund, Y Combinator, BDC, EDC and many more. SRTX is also backed by notable angel investors such as Chip Wilson, Serena Williams, Michele Romanow, and Joe Mimran. Prior to starting SRTX in 2017 Katherine founded, led, and sold two businesses; ShopLocket, a pre-order platform for hardware, sold to PCH International in 2014 and Female Funders, an online education program for female investors, acquired in 2017 by Highline Beta. Katherine is the author of O’Reilly Media’s Funded, An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Raising Your First Round. Katherine is also an angel investor, a proud graduate and mentor for the Creative Destruction Lab, and frequent industry speaker on fundraising, manufacturing and startups. Throughout her entrepreneurial career Katherine has received numerous accolades including the Governor General’s Award for Innovation, Forbes 30 Under 30 in Manufacturing, Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, and Winner of the Startup World Cup.
