Outline

Level 1 of the IP Education Program is comprised of three online Modules:

Module 1: Definition of Intellectual Property and its Different Forms

Module 2: The Value of IP

Module 3 – Applying for a Patent

This online program will be augmented with optional lectures, workshops and presentations outside of this training as part of a general IP education program at the University. Participation in these events is highly encouraged but not required for completion of the program.

No prior knowledge of intellectual property is required to take this training.

Content and Teaching Material

The majority of the teaching material will come from external resources created by national or regional Intellectual Property Offices and/or non-profit organizations that have created excellent content and tools for understanding basic and advanced concepts in intellectual property and IP strategy. Sections within the modules will provide the external links to the content to cover that section.
