Annual U of T PRIDE Pitch shines spotlight on 2SLGBTQ+ entrepreneurship community
In celebration of Pride Month, ICUBE hosted the 3rd annual U of T PRIDE Pitch in person at U of T Mississauga campus last week. Students, staff and faculty across the tri-campus gathered in support of the finalists selected to showcase their business ideas via a five-minute pitch to a panel of judges.
Since 2020, the U of T PRIDE pitch has been offering up to $5,000 in cash prizes every year, to empower U of T’s 2SLGBTQ+ entrepreneurs by ensuring their efforts are recognized, rewarded, and promoted in an entrepreneurial space.
In an evening filled with innovative ideas and connecting minds within the U of T 2SLGBTQ+ entrepreneur community, three startup founders were selected as the winners of the U of T PRIDE Pitch 2022:
1st Place: Diana Virgovicova, CulturExpo
2nd Place: Crystal Wong Kruger, LIOHAN Inc.
People’s Choice: Laura Valeria Rosales Vazquez, Ramuri
Congratulations to the winners and all contestants. Stay tuned to next year’s U of T PRIDE Pitch!
