No prior knowledge of intellectual property is required to take Level 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio is-style-textured has-dark-blue-color has-pale-grey-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-e31acdfd86acd5f4be41f5b3e097373d is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-02d82a0a wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"has-dark-blue-color has-text-color has-h-4-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>L<\/strong><\/strong>evel 1 overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Module 1 \u2013 Definition of Intellectual Property and its Different Forms<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Module 2 \u2013 The Value of IP<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Module 3 \u2013 Filing Patents<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time commitment: approximately 2 hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This online program will be supplemented by optional workshops and events outside of this training as part of a general IP education program at the University of Toronto. Participation in these events is highly encouraged but not required for the completion of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Level 1<\/strong> is now open to all University of Toronto students, faculty, staff and alumni on Quercus. Registration for this program is ongoing and is intended to be completed at your own pace. against the learning objectives set out by the Ontario Expert Panel on Intellectual Property in their February 2020 Report, the Ministry of Colleges and Universities has endorsed the Level 1 \u2013 IP Foundations as an optional course for anyone involved in the research, intellectual property ecosystem, or postsecondary sector in Ontario.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-regular-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-dark-blue-color has-text-color has-h-4-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong>Did you know?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n        <div Toronto community and educators, the Level 1 modules have been packaged for download and import into academic courses or other research or entrepreneurship-related initiatives, with a goal of promoting broader access and re-use.
