The centres adopt different models to best serve the commercialization needs of their sector; acting as investors, incubators or service providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U of T is a member of the CECR\u2019s listed below but has access to many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/ccrm.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CCRM<\/a> aims to harness the power of stem cells and biomaterials to treat disease<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/tiap.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TIAP\u00a0<\/a>specializes in extreme early-stage seed investing for companies and technology emerging from its 15 member institutions, of which U of T is one<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Regional Innovation&nbsp;Centres&nbsp;<\/strong>(<strong><u>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.launchlab.ca\/regionalinnovationcentres\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RICs<\/a>&nbsp;<\/u><\/strong>) provide specialized assistance in 18 regions across the province to accelerate start-up and growth of entrepreneurial talent and globally competitive, innovative companies with value-added advice, access to capital, market intelligence, mentoring, and peer- networking programs. U of T entrepreneurs often access the resources of our local RICs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.communitech.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Communitech<\/a>\u00a0is an innovation hub located in Waterloo Region that provides support and collaboration to +1400 technology entrepreneurs.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneurship.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Entrepreneurship.org<\/a>\u00a0was formed as a free, online international resource designed to help build entrepreneurial economies.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.udacity.com\/course\/how-to-build-a-startup--ep245\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How to Build a Startup\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0is a course designed to introduce the basics of building a successful start-up.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marsdd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MaRS<\/a> In addition to their Start, Growth and Scale Programs, MaRS has a variety of online courses and resources that are accessible to all; please visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.marsdd.com\/collections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MaRS Library\u00a0<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/https\/www.nextcanada.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NEXT<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oneeleven.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oneeleven<\/a>\u00a0is North America\u2019s largest scale-up innovation hub focused on helping the most promising, high-growth start-ups build their businesses and scale their operations.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/riccentre.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RIC Centre<\/a> is Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon\u2019s innovation hub, providing free support services to entrepreneurs focused on IT, Clean Tech, and Advanced Material manufacturing sectors.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.startupcan.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Startup Canada Awards\u00a0<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/venturelab.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">VentureLAB<\/a> operates out of York Region to help technology entrepreneurs build scalable, high-growth tech businesses.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-teal-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">IP Education &amp; Training Programs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to University of Toronto&#8217;s IP Education Program, the following education and training programs are also available to educate you in IP:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/autm.net\/\">AUTM<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/ipic.ca\/\">Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC)<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/members.lesusacanada.org\/\">Licensing Executive Society (LES)<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; LES offers paid courses on IP Licensing, taught by experienced IP Licensing people &#8211; one lawyer and one IP Licensing professional instructor per class, including instructors w\/ strong industry &amp; university licensing experience.
