Webinar: Recruiting Talent for University Startups
June 11, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
Hiring top talent is not impossible for startups, but finding the right talent for university spinouts can be a difficult task. Even university startups ensconced in entrepreneurial rich talent-rich pools such as Boston, the Bay area, and New York struggle to appropriately match talent to attractive management roles.
Institutions have developed programs to source and match high quality entrepreneurs to new ventures emerging from university research. In this webinar, we will discuss the MIR program at University of Michigan, Oxford Sciences Innovation’s talent recruitment efforts, and the Academic Venture Exchange’s program for matching startups and entrepreneurs. Though they differ, the core concept behind these programs is to attract talented, experienced business-minded entrepreneurs to promising university startup opportunities.
How can universities struggling to source talent learn best practices from each other, and utilize these programs to intentionally identify experienced executives and recruit them to help take startups to the next level?
Please join OUP for a webinar where we’ll explore these three geographically disperse talent sourcing programs with our panelists:
• Ahmet-Hamdi Cavusoglu, Director, Academic Venture Exchange (AVX)
• Hazel Mulhare, Principal, Head of Talent at Oxford Sciences Innovation
• Mike Psarouthakis, Director, Tech Transfer Venture Center at the University of Michigan
This webinar is free to all of OUP’s academic institution partners.
