The Agency presents: Doing Good and Making Money: Exploring Social Entrepreneurship

March 28, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

As part of Entrepreneurship Week at UofT, The Agency is offering a free session on social entrepreneurship.

Many organizations balance doing good while earning a profit. Join this primer to understand how you set up a social enterprise. We’ll use examples to show how these for-profit and non-profit companies and organizations work and what they do, how they measure their impact in both financial and social measures. We’ll look at B Corps and other certifications, partnerships and specific funding available to social entrepreneurs.

We will examine:

  • What is a social enterprise
  • Legal structures to set up a for-profit/non-profit business
  • Measuring success for sustainability

Then we’ll workshop your ideas – our experts will help you think through balancing doing good with having a sustainable organization.

Free to all students, beginners welcome.
